The Stable Inn
*** Glenbarr’s Chapel is now accessible again and can be used by guests***
The group of buildings that was once the original stables and hay loft are now the ‘Stable Inn’ dining room. The original post and beam ceilings and country style furnishings make for a unique atmosphere.
The historic barn can accommodate approx. 60 people, either in a Conference or Dining format. It has large glass windows and doors which provide natural light and a great outlook to the rural surrounds. Facilities include trestle tables, upholstered chairs, air conditioning and tea-making provisions. The barn is available for campers to use, or it may be hired separately on a daily basis.
The dining room on the lower level of the Stable Inn can seat up to 40 people and the kitchen is well appointed to cater for groups. The Kitchen is equipped with almost everything needed for catering including dishwasher, microwave, oven, fridges and ample counter space.
While we strive to offer clean and comfortable surroundings, our site is a balance between preserving our heritage buildings and providing a great, usable campsite. While the facilities at Glenbarr are rustic and quaint they may not meet the expectations of everyone. If you are unsure if we will suit, please book a time to look through our facilities.
Weddings
Glenbarr provides a picture perfect settling for weddings.
We offer you the option of DIY or Full Service and anything in between. Your wedding your way.
For larger weddings a Marque can be erected in the garden and the full kitchen facilities are available for self catering.
Accommodation is also available for your guests to stay overnight.
Accommodation
Six dormitories have north facing balconies and south facing windows overlooking the creek and bushland. These dormitories can accommodate up to 36 guests. The dormitories are located to the east of the property with modern carpeted rooms. Each room has 4 single beds and 1 or 2 bunkbeds. The rooms are insulated and have ceiling fans and are close to the Barn meeting room with a short walk to the toilet and shower block. Each room has pillows supplied but all guests will need their own linen/bedding.
If separate accommodation is required for group leaders or a special guest, a 2 room stone cottage is also available for hire as part of group bookings. ‘Kathleen’s Cottage’ has a queen sized bed and 2 single beds (linen supplied) with self-contained kitchenette and bathroom. An extra fee is payable for this facility so please see our price list for details on our Bookings page.
Additional guests can be accommodated in Caravan sites (powered and unpowered).
The male and female ablution buildings comprise of three showers and three toilets each plus a disability bathroom.
‘The Barn’ Meeting Room
‘The Barn’ meeting room has been beautifully restored and is a central point of all camps and events at Glenbarr. Flooring is a combination of carpet and polished Jarrah floors and has the room to seat 80 people at tables. It is fully air-conditioned and perfect as a group training venue or ideal for a craft weekend. It is equipped with tea and coffee making facilities. The Barn Conference room can be hired separately for functions or events.
